RECORDING AND/OR REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a closed locking state of an upper panel from being released by twist or the like. SOLUTION: The recording and/or reproducing apparatus 1 is provided with: a casing type apparatus main body 2 whose upper surface side is opened; a mechanical deck part 4 provided in the inside of the apparatus main body 2 and reproducing information from a recording medium; a casing type cover 5 freely rockably provided on a base end side of the apparatus main body 2 and having an engaging body 9 provided on the tip side thereof; a locking body 8 provided at the apparatus main body 2 and locking the lid body 2 in a closing state by locking the engaging body 9; and a rib 2d protrusively provided in an edge part of the tip side of an upper surface opening part 2b of the apparatus main body 2 and in a position near to the engaging body 9 at the time when the cover 5 is closed and functioning as a stopper of the engaging body 9 to prevent release of locking. When the cover 5 is in a closed state, the engaging body 9 is disposed between the locking body 8 and the rib 2d and the clearance L between the engaging body 9 and the rib 2d is set to be shorter than the distance S at which the engaging body 9 is unlocked from the locking body 8.
