Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device designed such that contact of parts of a harness folded in at least two is prevented. SOLUTION: A carriage 11 holds a close-contact type image sensor 100 including a SELFOC lens 101 for reading an image read face, a lamp 102, and a light receiving element 103. The carriage 11 makes the image sensor 100 scan the image read face. The close-contact type image sensor 100 held by the carriage 11 can be connected to a data processing section 14 by being connected to the harness 13 disposed on the bottom of the device such that the harness 13 is bent in the direction of the movement of the carriage 11 and folded in at least two. In addition, a contact prevention member 15 is disposed so that the upper part 13a of the harness 13 disposed above the bottom of the device is prevented from coming into contact with the lower part 13b of the harness 13 disposed on the bottom of the device. Disposing the contact prevention member 15 prevents contact of the parts of the harness. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
