DEVELOPING ROLLER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller which is light in weight and is capable of reliably and stably obtaining a high quality image without causing the fogging of white image and, even upon continuous printing or partial solid image printing, without causing an image change and image unevenness in the lapse of time, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the developing roller. SOLUTION: The developing roller 1 comprises a shaft member 2 composed of a metallic pipe and one or more layers of resin layers 4 arranged on the outside in the radial direction. By applying the voltage of 8 kV to a corona discharge device disposed with an interval of 1 mm away from the outer circumferential surface, corona discharge is generated and the outer circumferential surface is electrified, wherein the absolute value of surface potential attenuation speed from 0.1 sec up to 0.2 sec after the charge application is 0.1 V/sec.
