COEXISTENT ANION TREATMENT DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for eliminating strongly acidic and weakly acidic anions coexisting in the suspected sample water in which the acid weaker than carbonic acid is dissolved. SOLUTION: In a method of treating strongly-acidic or weakly-acidic anion coexisting in the suspected sample water, (1) the coexisting anions are converted into a hydroxide type of strong electrolyte by making the sample water pass through a column filled with hydroxide type weakly-basic anion exchange resin, (2) and then the sample water is passed through a column filled with a hydrogen type weakly-acidic cation exchange resin to be converted into the water by ion exchanging reaction as principle. This method is effective in eliminating salts, in separating and measuring very weak acid in a sample of high salt concentration such as sea water, and as the water is used as eluting solution, non-polluting or low-polluting measurement can be performed.
