FOLDABLE CHAIR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable chair improving stability and safety in use. SOLUTION: This foldable chair is formed flatly foldable when being unused by pivoting a connecting part 16 of rear leg members 3 in an intermediate part of front leg members 2, forming guide grooves 26 and 26a along the vertical direction in the intermediate part of the rear leg members 3, and slidably fitting engagement rods 25 and 25a provided in a seat member 4 in the guide grooves 26 and 26a. The guide grooves 26 and 26a along the vertical direction of the rear leg members 3, in their upper ends, are provided with engagement grooves 27 inclined in the frontward side of the center of the guide grooves 26 and 26a so that the engagement rods 25 and 25a fitted in the engagement grooves 27, which are provided eccentric to the guide grooves 26 and 26a, are engaged with formed wall surfaces of the engagement grooves by the weight of the person sitting thereon.
