Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four-stroke internal combustion engine allowing the use of various power tools and having low emission, while solving the problem that the four-stroke internal combustion engine should be sufficiently lighter for an operator to carry as required. SOLUTION: The four-stroke internal combustion engine 20 to be operated in an inclined condition comprises an engine housing 28 including a crank case, a cylinder 50 and a reservoir 126, a combustion chamber 39, an intake valve 52 and an exhaust valve 54, a crank shaft 82, a cam shaft 106 oriented perpendicular to the crank shaft for rotation with the rotation of the crank shaft to drive the valves, and a crank chamber 124. The cam shaft has an axial passage and a radial hole. The radial hole communicates the crank chamber with the passage so that the crank chamber receives lubricant from the reservoir via a bearing.
