Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a driver about whether or not a vehicle can enter a space beyond a railway crossing without installing around the railway crossing an apparatus for deciding whether or not entry into the railway crossing is possible. SOLUTION: A distance C between a vehicle 1 and a vehicle 2 is measured by using a laser radar 30 and a distance X between a crossing gate 50b and the vehicle 2 is calculated on the basis of a current position of the vehicle 1 obtained on the basis of a signal from a high precision GPS receiver 11 and position information on the crossing gate 50b obtained from a map information storage part 12. Permission of traffic through the railway cross is notified in the case that the distance X between the crossing gate 50b and the vehicle 2 is longer than a total length Y of the vehicle 1, whereas non-permission of the traffic through the railway crossing is notified when the distance X between the crossing gate 50b and the vehicle 2 is equal to the total length Y of the vehicle 1 or shorter.
