DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of easily imparting predetermined electrification amount to toner without reducing the feeding speed of developer, restraining the overflow of the developer and forming a high-quality image. SOLUTION: The developing device includes a developer carrier having a magnetic field generating means fixed and arranged inside and carrying and feeding the developer including toner and carrier, a 1st stirring member provided adjacently in the rotary shaft direction of the developer carrier and a 2nd stirring member provided adjacently in the rotary shaft direction of the 1st stirring member so as to feed the developer in a reverse direction to the developer feeding direction by the 1st stirring member. The feeding amount of the developer in the rotary shaft direction by the 2nd stirring member is set to be smaller and smaller from an upstream side to a downstream side as seen in the developer feeding direction by the 2nd stirring member, and the feeding amount of the developer in the rotary shaft direction by the 1st stirring member is set to be nearly the same as the feeding amount of the developer on the downstream side of the 2nd stirring member.
