MUSIC RETRIEVING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily retrieve a desired musical piece even if the user remembers neither the player's name, composer's name, etc., of the music nor its accurate melody. SOLUTION: A music retrieving device is equipped with a musical piece storage section 1 which stores a plurality of musical pieces, a rhythm extraction section 4 which extracts a rhythm from a stored musical piece, a rhythm storage part 6 which relates and stores the extracted rhythm and the musical piece, a rhythm input section 12 which inputs a rhythm of the desired musical piece to be retrieved, a rhythm detection section 9 which detects the inputted rhythm, a musical piece retrieval section 10 which compares the detected rhythm with stored rhythms to retrieve the matching musical piece, and a sound output section 2 which selects the retrieved musical piece from the musical piece storage section 1 and outputs it as a sound.
