Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship having a mariner type rudder at the stern capable of enhancing the course stability. SOLUTION: In the ship 1, a stern hull 3 at a stern 2 has a downwardly directed stern portion 3a and a backwardly directed stern portion 3b. A horn 4 is installed on the downwardly directed stern portion 3a, and a rudder 6 is pivotably supported by a pintle 7 in a rocking manner at an end of the horn 4. A rudder stock 8 is vertically mounted on an upper end of the rudder 6, and the rudder stock 8 is penetrated through the stern hull 3, and connected to a steering gear 11 stored in the stern hull 3. A screw propeller 9 is installed on the backwardly directed stern part 3. In such a structure of the stern 2, the ratio H2/H1 is set to be ≤0.4, where H1 is the height of the rudder 6, and H2 is the length from the lower end of the horn 4 to the upper end of the rudder 6.
