Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting quantity of damage of partial discharge for accurately detecting abnormality due to the partial discharge at an early stage, eliminating a large-scaled facility and a halt of a device, and detecting abnormalities due to partial discharge at site. SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting quantity of damage of the partial discharge is provided with a sensor 1 for detecting acoustic waves generated by acoustic emission due to the partial discharge within the electrical device, and detects the damage quantity due to the partial discharge, based on the acoustic wave detected by the sensor 1. The apparatus for detecting quantity of damage is also provided with a means 3 for discriminating the predetermined frequency band component of the acoustic wave detected by the sensor 1, a detection means 4 for detecting the maximum amplitude of the frequency-band component discriminated by the discrimination means 3, and a means 5 for detecting the depth of damage of a damage region due to the partial discharge, based on a relationship between the previously found maximum amplitude and the depth of damage of the damage region due to the partial discharge and the maximum amplitude detected by the detection means 4.
