STEERING CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device for a vehicle preventing racing of an inner wheel without generating transient response and vibration, etc. accompanied by a feedback control. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a steering control controller 3 for variably controlling a steering gear ratio to be a ratio of a steering angle in relation to a steering wheel steering angle according to a traveling state. The steering control controller 3 is provided with: an inner wheel racing judging part for predicting whether the inner wheel runs idle; and a racing preventing and correcting part for increasing the steering gear ratio (θ/δ) when judging that the inner wheel runs idle, as compared with when judging that the inner wheel does not runs idle.
