Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a point in time copy of data between a source data storage system and target data storage system. SOLUTION: Information which correlates logical identification of a point in time copy data with the point in time copy data stored in a target and source is established in a target, and the information refers to the data storage system which has the required point in time copy data. A controller of the target accesses the point in time copy data required by the target when a table indicates the required point in time copy data is available at the target, if not, obtains the required point in time copy data from the source via a peer to peer communication link interface.
