Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for reducing perception of noise generated upon operation of a medical imaging device. SOLUTION: The system and method for acoustic noise reduction/cancellation includes a medical imaging scanner (10) configured to scan an imaging subject (76) within an imaging area that emits system noise when in operation. An ultrasonic emitter system (72) is included that is constructed to emit an inaudible signal (74) having properties to reduce perception of the system noise about at least a portion of the imaging area.
