METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical waveguide member which facilitates forming of an underclad, and enables reusing a surplus core material, and further, suppresses a used amount of the core material. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the optical waveguide member comprises a step for locating a stencil pattern 3 where opening parts 5 opening in a form of an optical waveguide path, on the front surface side becoming a core forming surface of an underclad 2, next, dropping the core material 4 heaped on the surface of the stencil pattern 3 onto the surface of the underclad 2 through the opening parts 5, and hardening the core material 4 heaped on the surface of the underclad 2 to form a core 9.
