HEAT EXCHANGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger having superior cooling efficiency by reducing the resistance of cooling liquid and superior space saving performance, with respect to the heat exchanger used in an EGR system of an engine or the like. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger comprises a cylindrical shell 22 in which the heat exchange is performed, headers 24, 25 respectively mounted on end sides of the shell and provided with gas inlet portion or outlet portion, end plates 30, 31 mounted between the shell and each of headers, a plurality of tubes 28 mounted between the end plates in a state of being penetrated through each of end plates at their end parts, and pipes 34, 35 through which the fluid liquid passes. Enlarged chamber parts 32, 33 having an enlarged inner diameter with respect to the pipe are connected to fluid liquid inflow port 26 or outflow port 27 formed on a surface part of the shell between the end plates, and the pipes communicate with the enlarged chamber parts.
