OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable or aerial drop cable whose jacket is so shaped that a cicada can not lay eggs or hardly lays eggs nearby coated optical fibers. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable has notches, extending in parallel to one or more coated optical fibers along the length, on surfaces parallel to a plane, where the coated optical fibers arranged in the center part of the cable and two tension members arranged on both the sides in parallel are arranged, directly above or below the coated optical fibers, in the nearly-rectangularly sectioned jacket formed by coating the coated optical fibers and tension members together, and the notches are filled with adhesive low-strength resin to make a cicada not notice the presence of the notches, so that the cicada does not lay eggs in the notch parts.
