IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form images with high precision by forming latent images with high precision on each latent image carrier, in an image forming apparatus composed of a plurality of image forming means having rotary development units, provided with the latent image carriers and a plurality of development apparatuses. SOLUTION: When at least one of the rotary development units 41a and 41b is rotated and moved at a first moving speed, latent image formation operation is not conducted by all the image forming means, since the possibility exists where the influence accompanying rotation and movement operation reaches the latent image formation operation. In addition, when all the rotational and moving speeds of the rotary development units 41a and 41b are equal to or lower than a second movement speed, the latent image formation operation is conducted in each of the image forming means, in this state, since influence accompanying the rotation and movement operation does not reach the latent image formation operation.
