Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine exhaust emission control device avoiding tar-like deposition of unburned fuel in an EGR passage. SOLUTION: This comprises a filter B installed in an exhaust passage 10 of an engine 1 for catching particulate matter in exhaust gas, catalysts installed upstream the filter B and/or on a surface of the filter B for regenerating the filter B by raising temperature and burning the particulate matter collected by the filter B when unburned constituents of fuel are supplied, an EGR valve 8 installed in the EGR passage 7 connecting intake and exhaust sides of the engine 1, an injector 2 for injecting fuel into a cylinder and a control means (ECU) 20 for controlling the injector 2 and the EGR valve 8. The control means 20 closes the EGR valve 8 when regenerating the filter and when controlling fuel injection of the injector 2 and supplying unburned constituents of fuel to the catalysts and opens the EGR valve 8 when continuing regeneration of the filter B and when shifting to a state of not injecting fuel from the injector 2.
