METHOD AND SYSTEM WHICH RESTORE PRIVATE DATA PROTECTED WITH PASSWORD THROUGH COMMUNICATION NETWORK WITHOUT EXPOSING PRIVATE DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method which safely move private data from a first client computer to a second client computer which are connected through a communication network. SOLUTION: A user of the first client computer executes a a home client application and designates private data to be moved. The home client application generates a first key in response to a pass word and encrypts the designated private data as a function of the first key. A server receives the enciphered private data and stores the data. A user of the second computer executes a roaming client application and requires transferring of the enciphered private data from the server. The roaming client application generates the first key in response to the pass word and obtains the private data by performing decryption of the enciphered private data transferred from the server.
