MEDICAL IMAGE SERVER AND PROGRAM FOR SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase diagnostic efficiency by reducing the labor and time required to search for and display images concerning a medical image server that includes a first storage device 21a with a first storage medium (hard disk 21b) installed therein for storing medical image data for a predetermined period of time and a second storage device 22a into which a second storage device (DVD 22b) for storing the medial image data after the predetermined period of time has elapsed can be manually replaceably inserted. SOLUTION: Prior to a search by an image search means 27, a decompression reservation means 25 extracts from an image management database 23 the image ID and the media ID of image data P1for search, for which an image display device 3 is likely to be searched, from among medical image data P stored in the DVD 22b. When the DVD 22b specified by the media ID of the image data P1is inserted into the second storage device 22a, a reservation process is implemented so that the image data P1are decompressed in the hard disk 21b.
