Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-tap alternating voltage regulator that has a compact and light protection circuit for high voltage suppression and maintains a short circuit between shunt windings even when all the switches are opened. SOLUTION: The alternating voltage regulator comprises input terminals X and Y, a first main winding 1 and shunt winding 3 and a second main winding 2 and shunt winding 4 for providing a uniform step-down from the input terminals X and Y respectively, and output terminals x and y connected between the main winding 1 and the shunt winding 3 and between the main winding 2 and the shunt winding 4 respectively. First switches M11a and M12a are connected between the shunt windings 3 and 4, and second and third switches M11b and M12b and abnormal voltage protection circuits that are a series circuit of a capacitor and a resistor are connected in parallel between both ends of the first and second shunt windings 3 and 4 respectively.
