MOVABLE TYPE BREAKWATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embed a movable breakwater in the sea bottom in a calm time, and to project it on the sea in a storm and close a harbor entrance. SOLUTION: The movable type breakwater has a plurality of lower steel pipes 3 penetrating to a concrete foundation 1 installed on a sea-bottom, where the inside and the outside of a harbor are partitioned and which are vertically inserted into a sea-bottom ground and linearly arrayed under the state, in which top faces are opened to the surface of the foundation under the close state, upper steel pipes 5, which are inserted into the lower steel pipes 3 and in which undersides are opened and upper sections are closed, and a drive mechanism for lifting and lowering the upper steel pipes 5 along the lower steel pipes 3. The movable type breakwaters are arrayed in a row on the surface of the sea at the places of the lifting of the upper steel pipes 5 and partition the inside and the outside of the harbor.
