SEAT RESERVATION METHOD AND SEAT RESERVATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user simultaneously make reservations for a plurality of trains at the time of reservation to allow the user to select a train for use according to convenience to the user. SOLUTION: When reservations from the user are accepted, temporary reservations for seats of a plurality of trains are accepted, and temporary reservation information is stored in a storage device. It is discriminated whether temporary reservations for the plurality of trains are possible or not, and the probability that actual reservations will be made is forecast with respect to temporary reservations for each train, and seat stocks of individual trains are managed as the numbers of seats allowed to be reserved, per movement section in accordance with a forecast result. When the user requests actual reservations at an arbitrary timing, a corresponding seat is reserved in response to this request, and a result is stored in the storage device and the user is informed of a seat position.
