DEVICE, METHOD OF COLOR CORRECTION OF VIDEO IMAGE AND RECORDING MEDIUM WHICH RECORDS PROGRAM FOR MAKING COMPUTER EXECUTE THE SAME METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of color correction which adjusts characteristics of a video display device using only visual characteristic of a user and which corrects colors of a video image using the adjusted characteristics. SOLUTION: In a color correction device of the video image which corrects the colors of the video image displayed on the video display device, it is characterized by providing a user interface part which displays N, optional positive integer, reference patches, removes a non-gray component from the reference patch and considers as the adjusted reference path based on the visual characteristics of the user, a table generation part which generates at least one look-up table having color component values of the adjusted reference patch as data using color component values of the video image as an address and a color correction part which prescribes at least one of the look-up tables based on the color component values of the video image, acquires data corresponding to the color component values of the video image and outputs the data as compensated data which is the one in which the colors of the video image are compensated.
