Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing carbon fiber with excellent properties including tensile strength through enabling drawing of unconventionally high draw ratio in the flameproofing step. SOLUTION: A method for producing acrylic flameproofed fiber is provided, comprising flameproofing acrylic fiber in air and then drawing the resultant fiber under heating at 50-150°C in the presence of at least one organic compound. The method for producing the carbon fiber comprises treating the above-obtained acrylic flameproofed fiber at 300-3,000°C in an inert atmosphere. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
