Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shuttlecock which is durable and which reveals good flight characteristic by efficiently reinforcing natural feathers constituting the shuttlecock. SOLUTION: Carbon fibers (with 70 MPa tensile strength, and 240 GPa tensile elastic modulus) pulled equally in one direction is impregnated with cellulose nitrate-based resin and hardened and formed to prepare a reinforced member 6 of a 3 mm width (25% of peripheral length of a feather shaft 4) and a 30 mm length. Then, the reinforcing member 6 is adhered to the inner peripheral surface side of the feather shaft 4 of the 16 feathers of a goose constituting the shuttlecock with a cellulose nitrate-based adhesive. In this case, the member 6 is arranged extending from a position P1 which is 5 mm from a base point P of the upper surface position of a base main body 2 into the base main body 2 to a position P2 which is 12 mm from the base point P to the tip side of the feathers 3.
