Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeding device and an automatic document feeding method capable of appropriately performing control, based on the movement of a document guide. SOLUTION: When it is determined that a document has been set on a document holder in step S10, it is determined whether prescribed time T1 has passed in step S12. When the prescribed time T1 has not passed, it goes to step S14 for determining whether the document guide has moved.
