METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EDITING MOVING IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily grasp needed parts of a moving image by improving a display method in the case of displaying a scene constituting the moving image and a cut hierarchical structure by using a representative image for cut. SOLUTION: A hierarchical structure management information file comprising an image for reduced display being a moving image reduced in accordance with a size in which the moving image is displayed as a representative image for high-speed display and cut, image file name for reduced display, moving image information composed of frame numbers of change points where a scene change is detected, hierarchical number, file name for reduced display, cut number, display display coordinates and identifier as to whether or not to perform display for a tree structure is stored in a magnetic storage device 106. In performing editing on the basis of a moving image hierarchical structure, hierarchical structure management information is read from a memory 102, a reduced image representing a corresponding cut or scene is read from a magnetic recorder 106, and an icon corresponding to a monitor 108 is displayed.
