Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable and contractible taper plug which makes it easy to perform the on-site fitting. SOLUTION: A shaft member 2 is inserted to extend through a shaft hole 1b of a plug body 1. A fixed engagement member 3 is provided at one end side of the shaft member 2 which is located on the insertion side of the plug body 1, while a movable engagement member 4 which is movable along the shaft member 2 and which can be secured at an arbitrary position is provided at the other end side of the shaft member 2. The plug body 1 is made of an elastic member and has a tapered outer peripheral surface 1a which is tapered off toward the insertion side. The tapered outer peripheral surface 1a is constructed in such a manner that the outer diameter is changed according to the change of the relative position of the movable engagement member 4 with respect to the fixed engagement member 3.
