IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND METHOD OF CORRECTING IMAGE FORMING POSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which detects the concentration distribution of a test pattern with high sensitivity, by using a reflection-type optical sensor of a simple configuration, and corrects an image forming position of a recording head with high precision, and to provide a method of correcting the image forming position. SOLUTION: In the image forming device, a reflection-type sensor module 16 employs an ultraviolet LED light source 40, and therefore even if the test pattern is printed in any of C, M, Y, and K colors, a pattern of the highest concentration can be discriminated with high precision from the test pattern. This is because of the following reasons: In an ultraviolet region with a wavelength of 400 nm or less, the difference in reflectivity between a white ground and printed portions of the C, M, and Y colors becomes large, and concentration difference occurs among a plurality of patterns included in the test pattern.
