Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear compressor with high efficiency by cooling the linear motor thereof by a sucked coolant to reduce motor loss. SOLUTION: This linear compressor comprises the linear motor 2 having, in a closed container 1, a stator 12 and a rotor 13, a compression element 101 continuously connected to the linear motor 2, a spring 3, a suction pipe 116 fitted to the closed container 1, and a suction gas diffusion mechanism 117. The suction pipe 116 is installed on the linear motor 2 side, and a suction port 108 communicating with a suction valve 106 is formed on the anti-linear motor 2 side. Thus, since the winding resistance of a coil 14 can be reduced to reduce the loss of the linear motor 2 by cooling the linear motor 2 with the coolant with low temperature sucked into the closed container 1, the linear compressor with high efficiency can be provided.
