RESIN-COVERED LONG SIZE ARTICLE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail which uses a metal core material having an opening in the longitudinal direction, and which is covered with a resin shaped body on the surface of the handrail, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In this resin-covered long size article, the part of a pipe-like long size article 1 with opening along the longitudinal direction except the opening 12 is coated with a resin. The end of the pipe-like long size article which is the core material of it, in which a securing groove 13 for carrying out the securing of the coating resin is prepared, and a securing portion 15 with a large groove cross section compared with a groove inlet port section is prepared in the core of the above securing groove, and is composed so that some coating resin may enter to this securing portion. By this, the separation of the coating resin is inhibited, and the resin covered long size article in which the core material was firmly covered by the resin can be provided. Moreover, this resin-covered long size article is formed by the coextrusion molding in which the melting resin is extrusion molded on the surface of the long size article while the long size article is sent out, and then the above resin-covered long size article can be manufactured continuously and efficiently by extruding the melting resin also inside the securing groove.
