Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a preferably pressure-sensitive-adhesive active electrode element which adapts to an active agent such as a medicine and a chemical medicine and also can minimize deterioration of the active agent while keeping an electrode device. SOLUTION: The device for iontophoretic therapy has a two-layer active electrode element (20). The active element is composed of an overlapping skin contact hydrogel layer (21) and a carrier layer (22). The carrier layer contains a dispersed or dissolved active agent. The active electrode element maintains the active agent in a stable form and permits efficient transport of the active agent to a host. Also, an iontophoretic device having a single layer active agent is disclosed. The single layer is a hydrogel as manufactured or substantially dry and capable of being hydrated before use.
