METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ORGANIC MATERIAL BASED OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE-TYPE WIRING BOARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture an organic material based optical waveguide-type wiring board without the need of using a mask or the like by radiating light along a core pattern preset on a photosensitive organic material layer to form a core. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the organic material based optical waveguide-type wiring board, a layer made of a photosensitive organic material 1 which has the refractive index raised by radiation of light is formed on a substrate 3, and then the photosensitive organic material 1 is irradiated with light to while relatively moving a light radiator 6 or the substrate 3 along the core pattern preset on the layer made of the photosensitive organic material 1, to form a core 2 having a refractive index higher than that of the photosensitive organic material 1, and next, an upper clad having the same refractive index as the photosensitive organic material is formed on the core 2.
