Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved surfactant which is easily dissolved in a flux solution of high concentration, and has the effects, e.g., that the explosion of steam is suppressed, thus the loss of a zinc matrix is reduced, bare spots are eliminated, oxidized ash is reduced, and the effective utilization rate of zinc is increased, and to provide an improved flux composition. SOLUTION: The flux composition is composed by adding an alkyl quaternary ammonium salt type surfactant composed of dimethyl alkyl-2,3-dihydroxypropyl ammonium and a product obtained by adding ethylene oxide thereto, or a condensation reaction product of dimethyl alkyl-2,3-dihydroxypropyl ammonium and (poly)glycerol, and in which one of alkyl radicals has two or more hydroxyl groups to a well-known flux composition fundamentally composed of an independent of zinc chloride or ammonium chloride or their mixed salt.
