FACSIMILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile communication system and facsimile communication method which realize the elimination of instability in transmission by the Internet without adding a special change to a facsimile machine itself. SOLUTION: A calling control part 238 calls a telephone number of a transmission destination of facsimile through an ADSL MODEM with IP telephone function which is connected to the Internet and a subscriber telephone network so that they can freely be switched. When the transmission destination is connected, a communication control part 239 transmits picture data stored in a picture storage part 235. When transmission is not normally completed, the control part causes the calling control part 238 and the communication control part 239 to perform retransmission, and causes the ADSL MODEM with IP telephone function which is stored in an access code storage part 234, to transmit an access code for indicating use of a subscribing telephone.
