Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly productively and highly efficiently producing crystalline titanoaluminophosphate being almost free from extralattice titanium because titanium atoms are incorporated in an aluminophosphate crystal skeleton as T atoms and therefore having a high degree of crystallinity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the crystalline titanoaluminophosphate comprises heat-treating a xerogel containing titanium, aluminum, phosphorus, and a structure-directing agent in a steam atmosphere. The crystalline titanoaluminophosphate is useful e.g. as a functional material such as a catalyst for a liquid-phase oxidation reaction using a peroxide as an oxidizing agent, an esterification or transesterification catalyst, or an adsorbent.
