Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transfer device in which a result of monitoring a queue length (the storage state in buffers (the amount of packets)) is hardly affected by external conditions and the queue length can be stably and easily monitored. SOLUTION: A packet transfer device which is configured by serially connecting a plurality of buffers each for temporarily storing an inputted packet and in which a buffer connected to a pre-stage outputs a packet to a buffer connected to a post-stage according to a packet output enabled/prohibited state determined in accordance with the state of storing the packet inside the buffer of the post-stage, monitors the storage state in the buffer connected to the pre-stage when the buffer of the pre-stage is changed from the state of enabling a packet output to the buffer of the post-stage to the state of prohibiting the output and a packet is then first inputted to the buffer of the pre-stage.
