Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in the conventional silencing device, a space region where silencing effect is obtained and a space region where the silencing effect is not obtained, are produced. SOLUTION: Noise S1 from a noise source 1 is primarily diffracted by the upper-end edge 13a of an enclosure 13 to reach the opposite side of a soundproofing wall 12 from the noise source 16, and interferes with a control sound C from a speaker 14 to be reduced. The reduced sound is secondarily diffracted by the side 17a of a diffraction plate 17 and propagated to the side of the soundproofing wall 12 opposite to the noise source 16. Consequently, noise S1 interferes with the control sound C at a position 19 to be reduced and then propagated to the side of the soundproofing wall 12 opposite to the noise source 16.
