Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ash melting furnace capable of suppressing influence on the environment to the minimum without increasing size and cost of facility and causing inconvenience such as wear and breakage of an electrode. SOLUTION: This ash melting furnace 10 has a furnace body 12 in which ashes are charged through an ash charging port 15, a main electrode 14 arranged in the furnace body 12, and a furnace bottom electrode provided in a bottom part of the furnace body 12 to melt ashes in the furnace body 12 sequentially by Joule heat by current flowing between the main electrode 14 and the furnace bottom electrode. An air take-in port 21 for taking air into the furnace body 12 is provided in a region A on the opposite side to a region B in which the ash charging port 15 is formed using a straight line β crossing a straight line α connecting the ash charging port 15 with the main electrode 14 when viewed in a plane orthogonally as reference line.
