Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the calorie of a digestion gas by a relatively simple apparatus and a method using it and to supply a methane gas so as to use the same as fuel or the like. SOLUTION: In the digestion gas refining method, a packed column type absorbing column equipped with a plurality of packed beds partitioned by a gas back flow preventing plate is used to introduce the digestion gas into the bottom of the absorbing column while supplying absorbing water to the absorbing column from the top thereof to bring the digestion gas and the absorbing water to counter contact in the absorbing column to absorb unnecessary gas components such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide or the like in the digestion gas by absorbing water to take out the refined methane gas from the upper part of the absorbing column. In this digestion gas refining method carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide in the digestion gas are removed at the same time by one stage absorbing operation to obtain the refined methane gas.
