Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine excellent in work performance by reducing lavor required in a case of frequently implementing thread-replacement work such as a case of sewing a car sheet (a seat for an automobile). SOLUTION: A thread-connecting mechanism 1 for connecting threads 20 and 21 is disposed between a sewing needle 105 of the sewing machine 101 and a plurality of bobbins 103 and 104 for feeding the threads 20 and 21 to the sewing needle. The mechanism 1 connects the threads 20 and 21 by performing one cycle of thread connecting operation comprising the steps of superposing the tip ends of the threads 20 and 21 in the same direction, inserting the the tip ends in a thread-connecting hole 7 and causing compression fluid to act on the tip ends when an actuation switch 119 is operated.
