Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melanin concentrating hormone receptor protein and to provide a gene encoding the protein and uses thereof. SOLUTION: A cDNA encoding the human melanin concentrating hormone receptor protein is isolated. Binding experiments using the protein can be made by providing the melanin concentrating hormone receptor which is the new protein. The development of medicines targeting the protein can be carried out by screening compounds modifying the activity of the melanin concentrating hormone receptor based on the binding experiments.
