PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network communication device that efficiently and appropriately performs various kinds of setting in the network communication device from a client device side, and to provide the client device. SOLUTION: Network facsimile equipment FX sends back setting information on various kinds of setting items according to a setting item acquisition request, when work station devices WS1-WSn request the acquisition of setting items in the setting of various kinds of setting items by XML data using SOAP from the work station devices WS1-WSn; and also sends back propriety information on setting change for indicating whether a change in setting is allowed in the setting items as the setting information, thus performing the setting operation of the setting items by acquiring information on whether the setting items can be set in advance in the work station devices WS1-WSn, or the like, and hence improving availability.
