Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device of a shaft type linear motor which enables stable linear reciprocating movement and reliable braking operation even when a magnetic shaft is curved or bent by its own weight to be deformed. SOLUTION: A brake-shoe for holding a magnetic shaft 4 is constituted by pivoting the intermediate portion of upper and lower clamp arms 10A and 10B with a connection shaft 9 and providing arc-shaped lining materials 11A and 11B on the clamp arms on the distal end side from the connection shaft 9. A brake main body 6 is constituted by providing, on the rear end side from the connection shaft 9, an electromagnetic brake which is energized in the direction of opening the clamp arms with the brake spring 15 to perform braking operation and is operated in the direction of closing the clamp arms against the brake spring 15 at the time of energization of an excitation coil 13 to perform brake release.
