CUT OFF DEVICE FOR PASSAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation, a water cut off membrane of which is normally folded and stored in an opening gutter made across a passage arranged in a passable manner, and this membrane can be raised across the passage for protection in an emergency such as flood by raising the membrane of the installation in its width direction with the edges of its both ends arranged and raised quickly and easily along the posts installed at both ends of the passage. SOLUTION: A water stopping installation which is provided with a gutter 3 for storing a folding type water cut off membrane on the passage floor surface 1; a top edge 2"of a water cut off membrane 2 is supported by a freely liftable horizontal rod 6 across the width of the passage; both front and rear portions of the horizontal rod 6 are linked in a detachable manner to horizontal gutters 10', 10' formed respectively to end posts 8, 8 and attached posts 11, 11 at both ends of the passage; the water stopping membrane 2 is put between both end posts 8, 8 and the attached posts 11, 11; and freely foldable plate 2b, 2b are installed at both right and left edges of the water stopping membrane 2 in inner spaces s, s of both end posts 8, 8 thereby permitting the engagement of the plate to the end posts 8, 8 and the attached posts 11, 11.
