Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a new compound having high antioxidizing actions and to make application to an antioxidant, a cosmetic composition and a food composition by using the compound. SOLUTION: The antioxidant comprises a compound represented by formula (1) or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. The new compound represented by formula (1) has excellent antioxidizing actions, for further detail, active oxygen scavenging actions. The antioxidant having a high antioxidizing ability can be composed by using the new compound. Furthermore, effective prophylaxis of various disorders or diseases caused by the active oxygen or effective antioxidation of products themselves of the cosmetic composition or food composition can be expected by using the antioxidant in the cosmetic composition or food composition.
