Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small optical communication module component with a very simple structure. SOLUTION: An optical transmission/reception part formed of an optical transmission part and an optical reception part is installed on the same substrate 11. The optical transmission part has a groove 12 in a position confronted with a transmission-side sleeve of the substrate 11, an LED chip 14 in the groove 12, a sphere lens 18 on the LED chip 14, a transmission-side cap 20 covering the groove 12, a transmission-side window 21 on the top face of the transmission-side cap 20 adjusted to an optical axis of the LED chip 14, and a transmission-side glass 22a in the transmission-side cap 20 covering the transmission-side window 21. The optical reception part has a PIN diode chip 25 in a position confronted with a reception-side sleeve of the substrate 11, a reception-side cap 27 covering the PIN diode chip 25, a reception-side window 28 on the top face of the reception-side cap 27 adjusted to an optical axis of the PIN diode chip 25, and a reception-side glass 29 in the reception-side cap 27 for covering the reception-side window 28.
