VARIABLE LENGTH MULTI-FORMAT CONVERTING APPARATUS AND METHOD AND FILE TRANSFER SYSTEM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable length multi-format converting apparatus and method and file transfer system using the same in which a format can be converted even if record length of each of records is a variable length in the case of converting formats of records in electronic data comprised of a plurality of records in different formats. SOLUTION: The variable length multi-format converting apparatus includes: a format conversion definition file storage section 2 for storing a format conversion definition file indicating rules of format conversion; a file read section 11 for reading data of a conversion target file for the unit of a record; a format specification section 12 for specifying a format of each of the read records based on the format conversion definition file; an item extraction section 13 for extracting contents of items included in the records of which the formats are specified, based on the format conversion definition file; and a format conversion processing section 14 for converting the format of the conversion target file for each item based on the format conversion definition file.
